Description
Šibenik and Zadar are located in northern Dalmatia. Šibenik is a small Dalmatian town famous for its cathedral. Zadar has an ancient heritage dating back to antiquity. The region is home to 3 national parks: the Kornati archipelago, with the highest density of islands in the world, Paklenica Park, a narrow gorge, and the Krka River, with its complex of waterfalls and small ethnographic village. The island of Pag is renowned for its cheeses, the salted meat of its sheep and the Zrće beach, where permanent seasonal festivals are held. The region is also marked by the Velebit massif overlooking the Dinaric mountains, home to Croatia's most remarkable national parks: Velebit and, above all, the splendid Plitvice lakes.
